Today begins the IX, or Jaguar, trecena of the Tzolkin calendar. Jaguars symbolize feminine energy and spiritual power to the Maya and are believed to connect cosmic divinity with our own individual earthly divinity. Because of this, ancient shamans often wore jaguar pelts during ceremonies.
The Maya believe that Jaguar travels through the underworld, revealing our subconscious fears so that they may be transformed. During this trecena, spend time connecting to your source/soul and facing your personal fears. By doing so, you’ll free yourself from unnecessary shackles and transform to your true being and full potential.
