I live in California, near several redwood forests, and spend as much time hiking in them as possible.
One of my favorite things to do is bring someone who has never seen these magnificent trees to the forest as the sun is just starting to come up. Usually my guest grumbles about the early hour, but then, once we get there and they spend some time walking through the silence of the forest, something changes. They get what I call the “Redwood Glow.” They experience a level of peace and tranquility brought about by the energy of the trees that they have never experienced before.
Nature – every plant, animal and elemental in it – has healing capabilities and gifts that help our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
The Redwoods, as well as other trees and beings in nature, elevate our spiritual energy and vibration level. At the same time, they remove any negative energy or stress that we are carrying and ground us so that we are more connected to the earth. All this helps us feel better and heal.
How can you tap into nature’s healing capabilities?
It’s simple: spend time reconnecting with the natural world. Disconnect from technology, remove the ear buds and take a walk in the woods, up a mountain trail or along the beach. Breathe in deeply, listen to the symphony of sounds that nature produces, and open your heart to the beauty around you. Find a quiet place to sit and meditate…letting nature’s energy flow over and through you.
Make this a regular practice. And don’t forget to send your love and gratitude back to the trees and other nature beings that are helping you heal!
